POLICE are appealing for information after a man was assaulted by a group of men in Blackburn on Monday night, 26th August.

The incident took place around 11.30pm near to Madinah Mosque on Oak Street when the 25 year old victim was assaulted by a group of between 10 and fifteen men.

The victim was taken by ambulance to Royal Blackburn Hospital where he was treated for facial fractures.

All the men involved are described as being Asian and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Sergeant Mark Haworth-Oates said: “We are trying to establish the circumstances of what has happened and I would appeal to anybody that was in the area of Oak Street in Blackburn last night that witnessed any sign of a disturbance or an assault to contact police on 101.”
