Detectives have launched a manhunt for an attacker suspected to have stabbed a man in a street fight.
The victim was stabbed in the stomach after a disturbance broke out between two groups of men in Preston city centre.
The 31-year-old man received treatment at the Royal Preston Hospital.
His injuries are not thought to be life threatening and he has been allowed home.
Police say the incident took place close to Boots the chemist and Bank clothes shop at around 2.30am on Saturday, September 1 on Fishergate in Preston.
Details of the incident have only just been released.
The offenders ran off down Cannon Street towards Cross Street after the man was injured.
Officers today released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in connection with the attack.
They believe he was on Glovers Court just prior to the incident.
PC Peter Burns, of Preston Police, said, “I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident to come forward and contact the police.
We need to find the person responsible for this assault.
“If anyone recognises this man then I would urge them to contact the police.
“I would also appeal direct to the man in the CCTV image to get in touch with us.”
He added: “The victim is a 31-year-old local man and he is continuing his recovery at home, being looked after by friends and family.”
