Ferdos Rabani, a convicted rapist, of Seagrave Crescent, Gleadless, made the threats against a female police officer when he was recalled to prison following a seven-year stretch.
The 45-year-old told two community psychiatric nurses at HMP Northumberland that who monitored him while he was on the Sex Offenders’ Register, had ‘ruined his life’.
“He told the two workers the next time he got convicted he would get a life sentence,” Neil Coxon, prosecuting, told Sheffield Crown Court.
“He said he may make it worthwhile and expressed a desire to harm the officer and her family and would seek revenge on a former girlfriend.
Rabani was convicted of rape in December 2001 and jailed for seven years.
Following his release he was monitored by the WPC and he was jailed again for 18 months after harassing his girlfriend.
He was released in October 2011 but recalled to prison the following year because of his behaviour at a bail hostel.
Judge Roger Keen said: “These sort of offences are too serious for anything other than custody. They are committed with the intention of terrorising the victims.”
