Police are appealing for information after a charity box was stolen in Gateshead.
Between 8am and 11am on Friday, November 8, thieves stole a poppy appeal charity box from the Post Office in Saltwell Road.
The box contained money donated from the public to the charity.
Enquiries into the theft are ongoing.
Gateshead Neighbourhood Inspector Michael Robson said: “This is a despicable kind of crime, the thieves have stolen money that was given by the public for a good cause. I’d urge anyone who knows who did this to contact police with information so we can take action against them.”
Anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
