Two brothers have been found guilty of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.

Ex-Met Police staff member Mohammad Imran Shabbir, 34, and Muhammad Farhan Shabbir, 25, from Barnet, north London, were convicted at Harrow Crown Court.

Mohammad Imran Shabbir was sentenced to a two year community order requiring him to carry out 100 hours unpaid community service, he was issued with an order preventing him from contacting the victim and his name will be listed on the register of sex offenders for five years.

Muhammad Farhan Shabbir was sentenced to a two year community order requiring him to carry out 80 hours unpaid community service, he was issued with an order preventing him from contacting the victim and his name will be listed on the register of sex offenders for five years.

The court heard that Mohammad Imran Shabbir assaulted the girl at an address in NW9 in May 2011.

Muhammad Farhan Shabbir was found guilty of sexual assault between January and March 2011.

The abuse came to light after the victim told a teacher at her school.

Both men were arrested on Friday, 14 December, Muhammad Farhan Shabbir at his homeaddress and Mohammad Imran Shabbir after attending Wembley Police Station.

They were bailed pending further enquiries and subsequently charged on Wednesday, 26 June 2013.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Luke Williams, from the Child Abuse Investigation Command, said:

“The vulnerable young victim in this case showed great courage in coming forward. The Metropolitan Police will tirelessly pursue offenders who exploit the most vulnerable in society.”

Both men were acquitted of another sexual assault on the same girl.
