A 52-YEAR-OLD man who has been charged with a religious offence at a war memorial in Alfreton on Remembrance Sunday has appeared in court today.
The incident is alleged to have occurred on Sunday, November 10, at the memorial in Hall Street during the Remembrance Day parade, and at the New Life Church, in Church Street.
Mohammed Dar, of Ley Gardens, Alfreton, has been charged with a religiously aggravated public order offence.
He appeared before magistrates in Chesterfield, wearing jeans, a black t-shirt and a black fleece. He spoke only to confirm his date of birth and address.
He was bailed to next appear on January 7, at the same court.mLeu5oqZ
